31. Trisciadium andinum Philippi (1861: 61) View in CoL ≡ Huanaca andina (Philippi) Philippi (1864: 93) ≡ Azorella andina
(Philippi) Drude (1897: 132).
Neotype (designated here):— CHILE. Baños de Chillán , January 1878, Pearce s.n. ( SGO nro. 053206!; isoneotypes: SGO nro. 041672!, UC nro. 1023123!).
Protologue:—“El señor Pearce la halló en la Cordillera cerca de los baños de Chillan”.
Notes:— The protologue indicates that Philippi used material collected by Pearce nearby Baños de Chillán ( Chile). We have found four specimens that match the protologue in locality and collector (G00366897, SGO nro. 041672 & 053206, UC nro. 1023123), however, all four specimens show dates that postdate the publication of the new species (G00366897: 1876, the rest: 1878), and therefore are not part of the original material. We consider that the original material is lost, and designate SGO nro. 053206 as the neotype ; this specimen is housed at SGO, place where most types of Philippi are held, and is a complete specimen with abundant material.
