Anteon fidum Olmi

Anteon fidum Olmi, 1990: 171 . Female.

Diagnosis of Male. The male of Anteon has the following diagnostic characters: the head is black with mandibles testaceous and is punctate without sculpture between punctures; the posterior surface of the propodeum has two longitudinal keels and the median area is as rugose as lateral areas; the parameres have a distal inner pointed process with a slightly excavated inner margin.

Description of Male. Fully winged; length 1.93 mm. Head black with mandibles testaceous; antennae brown with segments 1–2 testaceous; mesosoma, petiole, and gaster black; legs testaceous with proximal region of hind coxae brown. Antennae filiform; antennal segments in following proportions: 8:5:6.5:6:6:6:6:6:6:9. Head shiny, punctate, without sculpture between punctures; frontal line complete; POL = 4; OL = 2; OOL = 5; OPL = 3; TL = 4; greatest diameter of posterior ocelli = 2; occipital carina complete. Scutum shiny, punctate, without sculpture between punctures. Notauli incomplete, reaching ~0.50 length of scutum. Scutellum and metanotum shiny, without sculpture. Propodeum with strong transverse keel between dorsal and posterior surface, with dorsal surface reticulate rugose and posterior surface sculptured by two complete longitudinal keels; median area of posterior surface as rugose as lateral areas. Forewing hyaline without dark transverse bands; distal part of stigmal vein shorter than proximal part (2.5:8). Parameres ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ) with distal pointed process ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ) provided of slightly excavated inner margin. Tibial spur formula 1, 1, 2.

Material examined. One female: P.R. China, Xizang Zhang Autonomous Region (= Tibet), Nyingchi Prefecture, Bayi Town , about 2985 m, 3 September 2003, Naiquan Lin coll., No. 20033299 (deposited in ZJUC); six females, one male : same locality, 20 July 2003, Meiduo Deji coll., No. 20034123, 20034124, 20034125, 20034128, 20034129, 20034131, 20034132 (deposited in ZJUC) .

Remarks. Anteon fidum Olmi was known from only female specimens. In 2003, a series of male and female specimens were collected together in P.R. China, Xizang Zhang Autonomous Region (= Tibet). This record is important, not only because of the discovery of the male of this species, but also because this is the first record of Dryinidae from Tibet. The male of A. fidum is very similar to that of A. priscum Olmi, 1990 . The key to the males of the Oriental Anteon published by Xu, He, and Olmi (2000) can be modified by replacing couplet 45 as follows:

45 Parameres with a distal inner rounded process (Fig. 17D in Olmi, 1990) ...................... ........................................................................................................... parapriscum Olmi

Parameres with a distal inner process more or less pointed (Fig. 13D in Olmi, 1990; Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ) ...............................................................................................................................45’

45’ Distal process of parameres with inner margin slightly excavated ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ) .................... ....................................................................................................................... fidum Olmi

Distal process of parameres with inner margin not excavated (Fig. 13D in Olmi, 1990) ................................................................................................................... priscum Olmi
