Description. Small to medium sized, sub-cylindrical. Head with simple or umbilicate punctures; frons depressed or rather flattened; frontal margin entire, well developed anteriorly; frontal groove transversely excavated. Antennae generally exceeding the pronotal hind angles by the 10th or 11th antennomeres in males, reaching to the base of hind angles in females; 2nd and 3rd segments short, sub-equal in length; 4th one a little longer than the combined length of 2nd and 3rd segments. Pronotum trapezoidal, generally a little longer than wide in male, a little longer than wide to more or less wider than long in females, with anterior-angles expanded; hind angles short, broad at base, with a single short carina; posterior margin lacking basal incisures and a basal notch; pronotosternal sutures double, distinctly furrowed anteriorly, posterior margin of hypomeron nearly straight, not emarginate; prosternal process expanded laterally; procoxal cavities narrowly opened posteriorly. Scutellum with median longitudinal elevation. Legs slender, moderately long; tarsomeres simple; claws simple.
Distribution. Holarctic region: 10 species in the Palearctic region ( Cate 2007; Leseigner and Mertlik 2007) and 47 species in the Nearctic Region ( Dhafer 2009).
