Limonius eximius ( Lewis, 1894)
Limonius eximius Lewis, 1894: 318 (Honshu of Japan)
Megapenthes purpureipennis Miwa, 1927: 20 (Mt. Takao in Tokyo, Japan), synonymized by Miwa, 1934: 166. Kibunea eximia (Lewis) : Kishii, 1966: 46 (Kyoto, Japan)
Korean record
Kibunea eximia Lewis : Park and Han, 1992: 138 (faunal study: 1ex, Mt. Balwang, Jeongseon, GW)
Description. Body length 6.5~ 7.5 mm, bronze black with tarsomeres a little infuscate: pronotum with metallic luster on surface: Elytra strongly tinted violet luster ( Lewis 1894, Kishii 1966)
Distribution. Japan (endemic) and Korea (?)
Remarks. This is endemic to Japan restricted to Honshu. Unfortunately, we could not locate the specimens reported as K. eximia by Park and Han (1992). Therefore, the species is remained in the Korean fauna until to examine the used specimens.
