Thorax white; tegula golden. Forewing ratio 4.0; ground color gray, tinged with golden fuscous below base of costa and fold; costa with a black spot near apex, with white dot before and beyond it; termen grayish white, with several black dots; black spot at costa before middle, at middle of cell, and below basal 2/5 of fold, arranged in an oblique inward directed line, anterior two spots sometimes joined; black spot at end of fold extending to tornus; dorsal fascia black, from before middle of wing extending obliquely outward to costal 2/3, darkened at costa; black streak from lower angle of cell oblique to costal 5/6, parallel to preceding fascia; cilia blackish gray basally and distally, white medially on costa and around apex, white at place of white costal dots, grayish white near tornus. Hindwing gray; cilia grayish white. Abdomen dark silvery gray dorsally, pale silvery gray ventrally.
Female ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 12 – 19 ) similar to male in size and wing pattern, but forewing with dense golden scales below costa diffused a longer distance outward, sometimes reaching spot at middle of cell, making the latter paler, indistinct, or absent; golden streak below fold extending to middle of fold; black fascia from costal 2/3 to before middle of dorsum; black streak from lower angle of cell to costal 5/6, golden fuscous near costa.
Venation ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ): Forewing with R4 and R5 stalked; hindwing with M3 and CuA1 stalked.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 86 View FIGURES 84 – 89 , 143 View FIGURES 141 – 143 , 199 View FIGURES 197 – 208 ): Tuba analis shorter than width of valva. Socius covered with 11̄17 scalelike setae, bearing a single seta posteriorly ( Fig. 199 View FIGURES 197 – 208 ). Valva widest at basal 2/5, dorsal margin slightly concave at basal 2/5, ventral margin arched in basal half; distal half narrowed to bluntly rounded apex; transtilla broad and short, triangular. Saccus triangular, truncate apically. Phallus curved to almost straight, about 3.5 times as long as width of valva; cornutus about 2/5 length of phallus, with about ten strong denticles, shortened towards base ( Figs. 143, 143 View FIGURES 141 – 143 a). Second sternite with about ten micro-setae in each row; eighth sternite Y-shaped. Coremata present.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 255 View FIGURES 253 – 255 ): Ovipositor 2.5 times as long as eighth segment. Anterior apophysis 2/3 length of posterior apophysis, bifurcate from before distal 1/3; branch bifurcate a second time, its dorsal branch extending to lamella postvaginalis, ventral branch fused and forming ventral margin of ostium bursae. Lamella postvaginalis hourglass-shaped. Antrum funnel-shaped, about 5/6 length of eighth segment. Ductus bursae spinulate before opening of ductus seminalis; ductus seminalis originating from about posterior 2/5 of ductus bursae.
