Type-locality. Northwest India.
Material examined. Single specimen without data ( NHMUK).
Remarks. This species appears closely related to L. bipunctatus sharing the pronotum longer than wide, antennae reaching the apex of hind angles of pronotum and the 3rd antennomere shorter than 4th. These species can be easily separated by elytral striae indistinct in L. scutopentagonus and shallowly punctured in L. bipunctatus , two depressions near the basal margin of pronotum in L. scutopentagonus , but pronotum without depressions in L. bipunctatus .
Distribution. India. The occurrence of this species in Pakistan is unconfirmed. A single specimen in NHMUK is without data.
