Lanelater scutopentagonus Vats & Kashyap, 1993: 216 ; Cate, 2007: 102.

Type-locality. Northwest India.

Material examined. Single specimen without data ( NHMUK).

Remarks. This species appears closely related to L. bipunctatus sharing the pronotum longer than wide, antennae reaching the apex of hind angles of pronotum and the 3 rd antennomere shorter than 4 th. These species can be easily separated by elytral striae indistinct in L. scutopentagonus and shallowly punctured in L. bipunctatus , two depressions near the basal margin of pronotum in L. scutopentagonus , but pronotum without depressions in L. bipunctatus .

Distribution. India. The occurrence of this species in Pakistan is unconfirmed. A single specimen in NHMUK is without data.
