Remarks. Parafontaria laminata laminata , P. laminata armigera , P. kuhlgatzi and P. echizenensis have been distinguished from each other by minor diVerences in the morphology of the distal part of the gonopods. This morphology varies continuously among populations of these nominal species and subspecies. Moreover,

no sympatries or overlaps of distributional range among these species have been found. It is hence proposed that these species and subspecies are treated as single species.
