Herulia Hedqvist, 1962: 103 . Type species: Herulia sundholmi Hedqvist, 1962 , by original designation. Synonymy by Huber & Lin, 1999: 38; previous synonymy under Camptoptera View in CoL by Schauff, 1984a: 39 and by Taguchi, 1971: 52.

Rhila Donev, 1989: 79 . Type species: Rhila bulgarica Donev, 1989 , by original designation. Synonymy by Huber & Lin, 1999: 38.

Diagnosis. Body length 715–1180 μm; ~800–1250 μm in Triapitsyn (2012a). Body black and legs brownish-yellow ( Fig. 561 View FIGURE 561 ) to orange; funicle 7-segmented with fu 2 ring-like, much shorter than fu 1 or fu 3 ( Fig. 566 View FIGURES 562–566 ); mandible with 2 equal teeth ( Figs 577, 578 View FIGURES 573–578 ); head posteriorly with median vertical coronal sulcus and occipital sulcus wide, shallow and indistinct ( Figs 563 View FIGURES 562–566 , 574 View FIGURES 573–578 ); head and mesosoma with distinct, slightly raised, mostly isodiametric reticulated sculpture ( Fig. 561 View FIGURE 561 , 573–577 View FIGURES 573–578 , 579–584 View FIGURES 579–584 ); fore wing ( Figs 561 View FIGURE 561 , 569 View FIGURES 569, 570 ) with distinct brown tinge separated by a clear subapical area from brown apical margin; hind wing tinged with brown and apical margin brown ( Fig. 569 View FIGURES 569, 570 ).

Discussion. Macrocamptoptera belongs to the Camptoptera group of genera together with Camptoptera , Camptopteroides , Eofoersteria , Ptilomymar and Stephanocampta . Macrocamptoptera is most similar to Camptopteroides . In both, the body is large, the head and mesosoma have relatively distinct sculpture, and the fore wing is relatively wide and patterned.
