EOFOERSTERIA Mathot, 1966 View in CoL

( Figs 380–387 View FIGURE 380 View FIGURES 381–385 View FIGURES 386, 387 )

Eofoersteria Mathot, 1966: 231 View in CoL . Type species: Eofoersteria camptopteroides Mathot, 1966 View in CoL , by original designation.

Diagnosis. Body length 220–260 μm. Funicle 6-segmented, without ring segment ( Fig. 385 View FIGURES 381–385 ); metascutellum in lat- eral view with dorsellum slightly overhanging almost vertical propodeum ( Fig. 380 View FIGURE 380 ); fore wing narrow and curved ( Fig. 380 View FIGURE 380 ); tarsi 4-segmented, with tarsomere 4 over 2× as long as tarsomere 3 ( Fig. 387 View FIGURES 386, 387 ).

Discussion. Eofoersteria belongs to the Camptoptera group of genera together with Camptoptera , Camptopteroides , Macrocamptoptera , Ptilomymar and Stephanocampta . It is most similar to Camptoptera except for the reduced number of funicle and tarsal segments. Eofoersteria is one of the few genera ( Ptilomymar is another) that clearly belongs among the numerous genera with 5-segmented tarsi even though it has only 4-segmented tarsi, the apical two having fused together without trace of a suture between them.
