Kalopolynema Ogloblin, 1960a: 6 View in CoL . Type species: Kalopolynema discrepans Ogloblin, 1960 View in CoL , by original designation. Kalopolynema (Floripolynema) Triapitsyn & Berezovskiy, 2002c: 616 . Type species: Kalopolynema (Floripolynema) mizelli
Triapitsyn & Berezovskiy, 2002c, by original designation.
Diagnosis. Body length 615 – 870 μm; 1120 μm ( K. mizelli holotype). Face with subantennal sulci and without pits between toruli ( Figs 469 View FIGURES 469–473 , 480 View FIGURES 480–485 ); vertex without pits outside each ocellus ( Figs 472 View FIGURES 469–473 , 483 View FIGURES 480–485 ); fore wing narrow ( Figs 467 View FIGURE 467 , 476 View FIGURES 476, 477 ); pronotum with propleura abutting medially anterior to prosternum ( Fig. 488 View FIGURES 486–493 ); propodeum with large propodeal pit next to metapleural suture ( Figs 487, 490 View FIGURES 486–493 ); petiole in ventral view widely divided posteriorly ( Fig. 492 View FIGURES 486–493 ); ovipositor strongly excerted beyond gastral apex ( Figs 467 View FIGURE 467 , 468 View FIGURE 468 , 477 View FIGURES 476, 477 , 496 View FIGURES 494–499 ).
Discussion. Among the nine other Nearctic genera of the Polynema group ( Acmopolynema , Caraphractus , Cnecomymar , Eustochus , Mymar , Neomymar , Palaeoneura , Polynema , Stephanodes ), Kalopolynema is unique in having subantennal sulci and large propodeal pit at junction with metapleuron. The long ovipositor, distinctly excerted posterior to apex of gaster occurs in one or two Polynema and one Palaeoneura species but otherwise is unique to Kalopolynema .
Nearctic hosts. Hemiptera : Delphacidae .
