( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20, 21. 20 )
Vespa brunnea Fabricius, 1793: 264 , “Tranquebariae” (København).
Rynchium khandalense Dusmet, 1930: 105 , ♂, ♀, [ India] “Khandala” (holotype ♂, Madrid).
Material examined. Rawalpindi, 10.ix.12, 1♀; Attock, 27.ix.12, 1♀.
Distribution. India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, Myanmar, Iran, Indonesia and Malaysia ( Srinivasan & Kumar 2010).
Comments. Specimens collected from Pakistan were compared with the published description of Rhynchium brunneum Fabricius given by Srinivasan and Kumar (2010). This species is distinct due to mesoscutum which is red with a black border and basal half of metasomal segment II black ( Fig. 20 View FIGURE 20, 21. 20 a). It is reported for the first time from Rawalpindi and Attock.
