Polistes wattii Cameron, 1900: 416 , ♀, [ India] “Bengal” (London, Oxford).

Material examined. Rawalpindi, 14-iv-12, 1♀, 02.vi.12, 1♀, 10-ix-12, 1♀, 12-ix-12, 2♀; Attock, 20-v-12, 1♀, 29-ix-12, 1♀.

Distribution. Pakistan, Iraq, India, China, Oman, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius and Afghanistan ( Das & Gupta 1989, Carpenter 1996, Gusenleitner 2007, Mahmood et al. 2012).

Comments. Distinct characters of this species are clypeus punctate and impunctate dorsal and ventral metapleuron ( Figs 26 a–b). New locality records have been provided for this species.
