Type species: Phalloleucon abyssalis gen.nov. sp.nov.
Diagnosis. The new genus has a carapace similar to Bytholeucon , a single pair of pleopods in males and is unique in the family Leuconidae by possession of penial lobes between the fifth pereiopods. Etymology. The genus name derives from phallus (gr.: penis) and - leucon (the family name); the species is named after the position of the type locality, the abyssal plains.
