Other material examined. BRAZIL: Rio de Janeiro: Casimiro de Abreu: 1 male, BR-101, 22°29’22”S, 42°13’17”W, 5–14 October 2010, Atlantic Rainforest fragment, pitfall trap, D. Castro, P. Baptista ( MNRJ 06818); 2 males and 1 female, same data exept 20 November 2014, O. Villareal ( UFRJ MAC 8672). Rio de Janeiro: 1 male, Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca, 22°56’12.8”S, 43°26’29.1”W, Atlantic Rainforest, litter, 22 November 2013, elevation 133 m, P. Castanheira ( UFRJ PBR 2816); 1 female, same data except Camorim, 22°56’12.8”S, 43°26’29.1”W, litter, 31 March 2014, elevation 160 m, R. Baptista ( UFRJ PBR 5767).
Diagnosis. The female is similar to F. jurubatiba by the habitus, size and by the shape of the spermathecae, which are globose and contiguous, but can be distinguished by the more expanded anterior portion of the spermathecae ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 a).
Description. Male. See Ramírez and Grismado (1996). Aditional notes: the male pedipalp of the Macaé specimens differs from the type material by the position of the embolus in a more retrolateral position, forming a wider angle with the cymbium, and by the shape of the tibia, which is slightly larger relative to the bulb ( Figs 7 View FIGURE 7 h–j, 8b–c). While the copulatory bulb may be rotated due to a partial expansion of the basal hematodocha, we interpret the size of the tibia as intraspecific variability.
Female (Macaé, MNRJ 06818). Total length 3.00. Carapace 1.37 long, 0.99 wide. Femur I 1.37 long, 0.33 high. Eyes and chelicerae as in male. Sclerotized portions of body as in male ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 a–c); abdominal scutum orange, with lateroventral notches where two oblique, elongated ventral plates (postepigastric scutes) fit, converging posteriorly toward middle of venter, but not touching ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 d). Unsclerotized portion of abdomen as in male ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 a–c). Internal genitalia composed of two large oval spermathecae, touching each other medially, with the anterior portion expanded, bearing conspicuous paired poreplates close to each other ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 a).
Distribution. Brazil, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, and known from Rio de Janeiro, Casimiro de Abreu and Macaé.
