Frankliniella unicolor Morgan View in CoL
Franklinella unicolor was originally described by Morgan based on one female collected from Andropogon virginica from Tennessee, USA. Later on, Moulton & Andre in 1936 described Frankliniella andropogoni from Iowa, USA, and now considered as a junior synonym of F. unicolor . The images of the paratype of F. andropogoni were provided by Dr. Dang Lihong which can be used in future for identification of this species (Figs. 16-24). Body yellowish brown including legs and antennal segments I and II, III with brown apex, IV to VIII brown. Head longer than broad, ocellar III near the fore ocellus and on line with inner margin of hind ocelli. Pronotum broader than long, with discal setae, with 2 pairs of posteroangular setae, anteroangulars and anteromarginals setae well developed but longer than discal setae (Fig. 19). Mesonotum with transverse striations, anteromedian campaniform sensilla present, median pair of setae close to posterior margin; metanotum irregularly reticulate posteromedially, median pair of setae located on anterior margin, campaniform sensilla absent (Fig. 20). Spinula present only on mesosternum but very faint (Fig. 21). Fore wing first vein with continuous row of setae, clavus with five veinal setae and one discal seta with apical seta longest, posterior fringes wavy (Fig. 23). Abdominal tergites III–VII without scallops on posterior margin, tergite VIII with posteromarginal comb (Fig. 24); sternites without discal setae; sternite VII with S1 setae located on posterior margin.
