Material. Malaysia: SW Sabah, nr Long Pa Sia, Payaka-laba , 1 ♀ 25.xi.–1.xii.1987, c 1010 m, Mal. trap 14, leg. C. van Achterberg; Sabah, Kinabalu Park Head Q., 1 ♂ 8–11.iii.1987, c 1525 m, Mal. trap 2, leg. C. van Achterberg (Leiden) .

Description. ♀. Body length 10.5 mm. Flagellum with 29 flagellomeres, almost filiform; 1 st flagellomere 3.6 × longer than wide. OED 0.9 × and OOD 0.9 × ocellar diameter. Hind coxa ventrally with distinct scopa. Hind femur 4.5 × longer than wide. 2 nd tergite 1.0 × as long as wide; thyridium transverse, 0.3 × as wide as the interval between thyridia. Colour. black. Flagellomeres 6–12 and 7 th tergite ivory. Wings slightly infuscate; pterostigma black. The available ♀ differs from the material from Sulawesi by its completely black 6 th tergite. It is otherwise typical.

♂. Body length 15 mm.

Head (figs 38A, 38B). Flagellum with 41 flagellomeres, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomere 4.1 × longer than wide. Tyloids on flagellomeres 10–15, linear, maximally 0.6 × as long as their flagellomeres. Temple short, strongly and linearly narrowed behind eye (fig. 38B). OED 1.3 × and OOD 0.8 × ocellar diameter.

Mesosoma . Mesoscutum with fine dense punctures, dull. Mesopleuron with superficial punctures, ventrally with superficial striation. Metapleuron with longitudinal striation. Scutellum moderately elevated and strongly declining apically, slightly longer than wide, with complete lateral carina. Propodeum completely carinated, with strong apophysis (fig. 38D). Area superomedia hexagonal, about as long as wide; costula reaching its middle. Legs slender; hind femur 5.7 × longer than wide.

Metasoma. Slender. Postpetiole slightly widened, almost smooth; median field not separated. 2 nd tergite 1.4 × longer than wide. Gastrocoelus slightly impressed. Thyridium small, oblique, 0.4 × as wide as interval between thyridia (fig. 38C). Apical margin of hypopygium slightly rounded.

Colour. Black. Ivory are palps, clypeus, face, stripes of gena and of frontal orbit, small ventral spot of scape, hind edge of pronotum, subtegular ridge, scutellum apically, postscutellum, posterolateral stripe of propodeum posterior to apophysis, apical spot on postpetiole, narrow apical margins of 2 nd to 4 th tergites, large median spot of 7 th tergite, parameres, fore and mid coxae and trochanters frontally, frontal stripes of fore femur and tibia and fore and mid tarsi entirely, and hind tarsus except black basal 2/3 of metatarsus. Wings moderately infuscate; pterostigma black.

Distribution. Known from Sulawesi, new record for Borneo.
