Holotype. (♀) Malaysia: SE Sabah, nr Danum Valley Field C, WON1 , c 150 m, Mal. trap 5, 14–20.iii.1987, C. van Achterberg, RMNH´87 (Leiden).

Description. ♀. Body length 13 mm.

Head. Flagellum with>37 flagellomeres (tips broken off), very slender and long, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomere 5.7 × longer than wide, all flagellomeres much longer than wide. Temple very short, strongly and linearly narrowed behind eye (fig. 20B). OED 1.3 × and OOD 1.2 × ocellar diameter. Frons almost smooth, with small dorsal tentorial pit above antennal groove. Face densely punctate, smooth, medially moderately bulging. Clypeus moderately convex, 1.8 × wider than long, with sparse punctures; apical margin sharp and slightly rounded (fig. 20A). Mandible long, continuously narrowed towards apex, with two teeth, ventral tooth much smaller than dorsal one. Malar space 0.5 × as long as width of mandibular base. Gena punctate. Genal carina reaching hypostomal carina away from mandibular base.

Mesosoma . Upper margin of pronotum distinctly and almost lamelliform widened (fig. 20C). Notaulus strongly impressed and crenulate, reaching apical 0.8 of mesoscutum (fig. 20C). Mesoscutum with superficial punctures, shining. Speculum smooth. Metapleuron rugose, dull; juxtacoxal carina absent. Scutellum moderately elevated, wider than long, almost rectangular, with coarse rugae and complete carina laterally and apically (fig. 20D). Postscutellum with coarse longitudinal ridges. Propodeum completely carinated (fig. 20D), without distinct apophysis but apical transverse carina at outer edge of area dentipara slightly lamelliform widened. Area basalis trapezoid, wider than long. Area superomedia almost rectangular, 1.3 × longer than wide; costula reaching at 6/10 of its length. Legs slender. Hind coxa densely punctate, without scopa. Hind femur 5.6 × longer than wide. Fore and mid claws with short basal teeth. Hind claw simple. Areolet quadrangular, pointed frontally; vein 2m-cu slightly proximad its middle. Vein 1cu-a interstitial. Nervellus of hind wing slightly reclivous, intercepted in its apical 0.7.

Metasoma. Strongly oxypygous; 2 nd to 5 th sternites with median folds. Petiole as high as wide. Postpetiole moderately widened; median field slightly elevated, with longitudinal rugae; lateral field punctate. Gastrocoelus strongly impressed, with longitudinal ridges. Thyridium transverse, 1.5× wider than the interval between thyridia. 2 nd tergite 1.1 × wider than long. 2 nd to 5 th tergites densely and finely rugose-punctate, dull. Following tergites with superficial punctures, ± shining. Ovipositor sheath long and slender, reaching behind metasomal apex by length of 3 rd hind tarsomere.

Colour. Black with extended ivory coloration. Ivory are flagellomeres 6–15, palps, mandible except teeth, clypeus (blackish around anterior tentorial pits), face except dorso-median black stripe, frontal orbit up to vertex, gena, frontal and upper margins of pronotum, rectangular central spot of mesoscutum, subtegular ridge, large ventral stripe and posterior margin of mesopleuron, scutellum and postscutellum, posterolateral spot of propodeum, base of petiole, gastrocoelus, basal margins of 3 rd to 5 th tergites, posterolateral spot of postpetiole and apical bands of all following tergites. Foe and mid coxae and trochanters and dorsal spot of hind coxa ivory. Femora reddish, hind femur black in apical 0.3; tibiae ivory, hind tibia black basally and in apical 0.2; tarsi ivory, mid tarsus partly brownish. Wings hyaline; pterostigma dark brown.
