Holotype. (♀) Indonesia: S Halmahera, 20 km S Payahe, Sagutora , Mal. trap 12, c 125 m, 18.ii.–18.iii.1995, C. van Achterberg, R. de Vries & Y. Yasir, RMNH´95 (Leiden).

Etymology. The species name refers to the mainly blackish coloration.

Description. ♀. Body length 9.2 mm.

Head. Flagellum with 31 flagellomeres, almost filiform; 1 st flagellomere 2.7 × longer than wide, about 10 th flagellomere square, widest flagellomeres square. Temple very short, strongly and linearly narrowed behind eye, dorsally 0.25 × as long as eye (fig. 25B). OED 1.6 × and OOD 0.7 × ocellar diameter. Head smooth and shining; face, clypeus and gena with very sparse fine punctures. Clypeus almost flat; apical margin sharp and straight (fig. 25A). Mandible long, with two teeth, lower tooth small and slightly bent inwards (by 30°). Malar space 0.5 × as long as width of mandibular base. Genal carina reaching hypostomal carina away from mandibular base, both carinae low.

Mesosoma . Covered with short setae. Notaulus not impressed. Mesoscutum with rather dense fine punctures in frontal half and sparse punctures posteriorly, shining. Pronotum almost smooth, with few rugae at ventral edge; epomia distinct. Mesopleuron with fine sparse punctures dorsally and rather dense punctures ventrally, with some fine ridges at posterior margin. Epicnemial carina low. Speculum smooth and shining. Metapleuron with sparse punctures in frontal half and transverse striae posteriorly; juxtacoxal carina present. Scutellum moderately elevated, slightly longer than wide, with fine sparse punctures, with lateral carina in frontal half. Propodeum (fig. 25C) completely carinated, spiracle slit-shaped, with short but distinct apophysis. Area basalis trapezoid, wider than long. Area superomedia hexagonal, 1.3 × longer than wide; costula in its frontal third. Hind coxa with fine dense punctures, without scopa; hind femur densely punctate, 4.1 × longer than wide. Hind tibia without denticular spurs externally. Claws not pectinate. Areolet pentagonal, frontal distance between veins 2rs-m and 3rs-m 4.0 × their diameter. Vein 1cu-a slightly postfurcal by 1.0 × its width.

Metasoma. Oxypygous. Petiole about as wide as high. Postpetiole moderately widened, without latero-median carina, smooth and with very sparse fine punctures; median field not separated. 2 nd tergite 1.3 × wider than long. Gastrocoelus not impressed. Thyridium small, transverse, 0.4 × as wide as the interval between thyridia. Tergites with fine superficial punctures, shining. 2 nd to 5 th sternites with median folds. Ovipositor sheath narrow, reaching behind metasomal apex by the length of 3 rd hind tarsomere.

Colour. Black with slightly metallic shine. Rings of flagellomeres 6–17, upper frons and vertex except black stemmaticum, small spot of mandibular base and large median spot of 7 th tergite ivory. Palps reddish-brown. Legs black, fore and mid legs with reddish-brown suffusion. Wings slightly infuscate; pterostigma black.
