Anisobas vietnamensis ssp. sabahensis
status

subsp. nov.

Anisobas vietnamensis ssp. sabahensis nov. ssp.

Holotype. (♀) Malaysia: SE Sabah, nr. Danum Valley Field C, W 12, Malaise trap 12, c 200 m, 14–26.iii.1987, C. van Achterberg (Leiden).

Remarks. This specimen from Borneo differs slightly from the material described from Vietnam ( Riedel 2023: 627–628) by its more extended cream yellow coloration: ventral spot of mesopleuron, small lateral stripe of mesoscutum beside wing base and posterolateral spot of propodeum yellow. Pterostigma reddish, not brown. Body length 8.5 mm. Flagellum with 25 flagellomeres. Malar space 0.7 × as long as width of mandibular base. Hind femur 3.1 × longer than wide. Vein 1cu-a of fore wing slightly postfurcal by 1.0 × its width. Structure and coloration are otherwise as described for A. vietnamensis s.str. Riedel. In my opinion, it represents a new subspecies of this species.

Distribution. This subspecies is only known from Borneo.
