Type species. Platylaboides javanicus nov. sp.

Diagnosis. ♀. Small, body length 6.1 mm.

Head. Flagellum slender, slightly lanceolate. Temple very short and strongly narrowed behind eye. Clypeus large, flat; apical margin slightly bulging medially (fig. 1A). Mandible long, upper tooth blunt, lower tooth very small and slightly turned inwards (fig. 1E). Genal carina reaching hypostomal carina close to mandibular base.

Mesosoma . Stout. Pronotum without frontal angular prominence. Notaulus impressed at frontal 0.3 of mesoscutum. Sternaulus distinctly impressed. Epicnemial carina low, reaching the subtegular ridge dorsally. Scutellum moderately elevated, wider than long, with distinct lateral carina in frontal 0.7. Propodeum (fig. 1B) completely carinated, with small but distinct apophysis; spiracle short-oval. Area superomedia wider than long, smooth. Legs rather stout. Claws simple. Areolet pentagonal. Vein 1cu-a slightly antefurcal (fig. 1C). Nervellus of hind wing slightly inclivous, intercepted in apical 0.8. Fore wing with sparse pilosity in basal half.

Metasoma. Strongly amblypygous. Petiole slightly wider than high. Postpetiole moderately widened, coarsely rugose-punctate. Gastrocoelus large, almost square. Thyridium transverse, about as wide as the interval between thyridia (fig. 1C). 2 nd and 3 rd tergites densely rugose-punctate. Ovipositor sheath slender, not extending behind metasomal apex. Ovipositor very thin, slightly bent upwards.

Colour. Black with extensive ivory colour pattern.

♂ and hosts unknown.

Remarks. This genus belongs to the tribe Platylabini and runs to the genus Cyclolabus Heinrich in the key to World genera of Platylabini ( Tereshkin 2009: 1432–1437) . It is characterized by the unique form of the mandible with a long blunt dorsal tooth and very small ventral tooth, and the form of clypeus, completely carinated propodeum with distinct apophysis, strongly impressed large gastrocoelus and transverse thyridium which is as wide as the interval between thyridia.
