( Figs 1C View FIGURE 1 , 6F View FIGURE 6 )

Diagnosis. This species is easily recognized by having the tergal process with a thin tuft of setae, the harpe wide with posterior margin straight, the inner median filament short, the aedeagal dorsal valve robust and the basivolsellar protuberance narrow and well projected.

Description. Head. Mandible with two distal teeth. Median clypeal lobe trapezoidal, with one angulate tooth; median clypeal carina low in profile, incomplete apically, straight in profile or nearly so. Frons weakly coriaceous, punctures small and sparse. Vertex crest weakly outcurved. Dorsal pronotal area with anterior margin coarse. Tergal process submedian, consisting of tuft with few setae, without depression. Posterior hypopygeal margin straight or nearly so. Genitalia. Harpe entirely wide, apical margin angulate, abaxial margin not projected; gonostipes shorter than harpe, ventral margin not excavated until outer margin of basivolsella; digitus long, basidorsal corner poorly projected; basivolsella well delimited with narrow protuberance, without spines; aedeagal ventral valve with apex anterior to apex of dorsal one, wide, progressively narrowing apicad; inner margin outcurved; outer margin outcurved, curved laterad; aedeagal dorsal valve robust, with two pairs of apical lobe; outer lobe very long, narrow, apical margin angled and posterad; apex of inner median filament anterior to apex of lobe, directed slightly laterad; basal cover plate entirely wide, posterior margin straight or nearly so; apodeme extending beyond genital ring.

Variation. Tuft of setae of tergal process very short, hardly seen.

Material examined. Holotype, 1♂, BRAZIL: Amazonas , Manaus , Reserva Ducke, Rod AM 010 Km 26, mata, IX.2001 arm. Malaise, J.F.Vidal col. ( INPA) . Distribution. Brazil (Amazonas).

Etymology. This species is named after the astrophysicist Rita de Cassia dos Anjos, a black woman who overcame inequalities in Brazil.

Remarks. It is similar to D. maryae sp. nov. by having the aedeagal dorsal valve rounded, the aedeagal dorsal lobes long, the apex of inner median filament anterior to apex aedeagal dorsal lobes, and the apex of aedeagal dorsal valve narrow. However, D. ritae sp. nov. has the dorsal margin of harpe straight and entirely wide, the basal cover plate wide, the apex of outer lobe with a constriction and the basivolsellar protuberance small and well demarcated, whereas D. maryae sp. nov. has the harpe with dorsal margin incurved anteriorly, the basal cover plate narrow, and the basivolsellar protuberance wide.
