Description. Head, antennae, scutellum, and legs black; pronotum and elytra orangish-yellow with black markings. Head: vertex trisulcate, alutaceous; frons punctate, not projecting. Antenna: antennomeres 1–2 subglobular, 2 smaller than 1; 3–5 transverse, decreasing in length, slightly compressed laterally; 6–10 transverse, rounded; 11 acutely pointed at apex. Pronotum: trapezoidal; lateral margin bisinuate; anterior angle with small tooth; posterior angle acute; transverse basal impression present; virtually impunctate; with medial longitudinal black vitta; pronotal length 0.9–1.3 mm (n=20); pronotal width 1.3–1.4 mm. Scutellum:
subcordate; black; alutaceous. Elytron: lateral margin dentate; apices strongly dentate, cojointly rounded; 10 strong puncture rows plus short scutellar row; tricostate; bulbous black macula at base along suture and apical quarter black; elytral length 4.8–6.7 mm; elytral width 2.1–2.6 mm. Venter: pro-, meso-, and metasterna orangish in middle, black at sides; abdominal sternite 1 and base of 2 orange; sides of sterna 2–5 orange; remainder black. Leg: femur punctate, basal ½ orange, apical ½ black. Total length: 6.3–8.7 mm.
Remarks. This species can be distinguished by the elytra having a scutellar row; by the pronotum having a basal impression, and with the lateral margin bisinuate.
Host plant. Centrosema pubescens Benth. , Desmodium sp. , Dioclea megacarpa Rolfe (Fabaceae) ( Memmott et al. 1994).
