General distribution. Europe: Austria, Albania, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, FYR Macedonia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece (incl. Ionian Is.), Ireland, Italy (excl. Sardinia and Sicily), Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden. West Asia: Turkey ( Zapparoli 2002; Minelli et al. 2006).

Chorotype. S-European (SEU).

Records in Peloponnisos ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ). Ahaia: 70 km NE Kalavrita (2). Korinthia: Oros Killini, 1500 m (1, 2); Oros Killini, Ziria, NE slope, 1600–2100 m (1, 2). Lakonia: Taigetos, 1300 m (1, 2).

Ecological notes. 430–2200 m; an euriecious species, in Quercus coccifera and Juniperus sp. open woods, in Alnus sp. and in Platanus orientalis riparian woods, in Abies cephalonica , Fagus sylvatica or Pinus nigra forests, and in montane open habitats ( Zapparoli 1994, 1996, 2002).
