Type locality and specimens. Venetian Lagoon , Channel of Poveglia. Holotype, female, 5–6 mm.
Material examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by Soika (1949) and Krapp-Schickel (1975).
Diagnosis (female). Short antennae 1–2. Gnathopod 1 dactylus short. Gnathopod 2 propodus mediofacial setal row below midline.
Note. Type and topotypic material should be examined to clarify diagnostic character for this species.
Male (sexually dimorphic characters). Gnathopod 2 coxa with serrate anterior margin; carpus with large subdistal tooth; propodus mediofacial setal row above midline, palm with three small tubercles.
Habitat. Among algae or Posidonia in lagoons; 2–70 m.
Host. Sponges and ascidians ( Microcosmus Heller 1878 ).
Distribution. MediterraneanSea: Venetian Lagoon ( Soika 1949), Naples ( Krapp-Schickel 1975), Sardinia, Malta ( Krapp-Schickel 1989). Adriatic Sea: Yugoslavia ( Krapp-Schickel 1989).
