Type locality and specimens. Port Shepstone , South Africa. Holotype, male, 6.5 mm, SAM A4404 .
Material examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by K. H. Barnard (1925) and Ledoyer (1979).
Diagnosis. Gnathopod 1 basis proximally expanded; propodus proximally inflated. Gnathopod 2 basis distally expanded; propodus palm with six to seven comb-like tubercles.
Note. Barnard’s (1925) original description is vague, but subsequent reports agree closely.
Female (sexually dimorphic characters). No significant sexually dimorphic character.
Habitat. Habitat not reported; 65 m (reported as 36 fthm).
Host. Unknown.
Distribution. Indian Ocean: Port Shepstone (K.H. Barnard 1925), east coast Durban to Cape Peninsula ( Griffiths 1974b; Griffiths 1974c; Griffiths 1975), Tulear, Madagascar ( Ledoyer 1979a; Ledoyer 1986).
