Type locality and specimens. False Bay , Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. 12.7 mm (reported as 0.5 inch) .
Material examined. No material available for examination. Diagnosis based on description by Stimpson (1856).
Diagnosis (sex unknown). Della Valle (1893) suggests that this species may correspond to Leucothoe richiardii .
Note. The existence of this species is uncertain. The original description is so vague that it merely places the species in the Leucothoidae . The species was never illustrated and pending analysis of type or topotypic material, this should not be considered a valid species.
Female (sexually dimorphic characters). Unknown.
Habitat. Among gravel, coralline zone; depth not reported, littoral.
Host. Unknown.
Distribution. South Africa: False Bay, Cape of Good Hope ( Stimpson 1856a).
