Type species. Margueritta sylviae Bruce, 1993 , by original designation.

Species included and distribution. Margueritta sylviae Bruce, 1993 ; Margueritta sandyi sp. nov.; southern WA.

Remarks. The new species differs from the type species in the brood-pouch morphology. The type species was re-examined to ensure that the original diagnosis was correct. Harrison (1984a) considered brood-pouch morphology to show important generic characters, and the differences between the two species could be considered to be of generic merit. However some genera, such as Sphaeroma ( Harrison, 1984a) are known to be variable, and the two species Margueritta otherwise agree.
