Diagnostic characteristics: Body relatively small, males 8–12 mm in body length, females about 10–15 mm in body length. General color pale brown. Two ocelli, ocelli large; distance between ocelli usually about 1.5–2X as long as to the compound eyes. Head mostly pale brown, except interocellar area often covered by a dark spot. Antennae brown and palpi brown. Pronotum wider than long, pale brown, completely margined with an impressed dark line; both edges of the black middle line with irregular brown rugosities. Wings hyaline, veins dark brown. Male abdominal sternum 9 with a patch of long hairbrush transversely elongated anteromedially. Tergum 10 with posterior hemitergal lobes. Epiproct with hairs and more strongly sclerotized than in Styloperla View in CoL , and a membranous swelling posteriorly. The basal shaft of cercus with a fringe of long hairs mesally; spur with an acute apex, not furcate. Aedeagus membranous or with ventral sclerites.
