Type material. HOLOTYPE: ♂, labeled ‘ CHINA: Yunnan Prov. / Yulong County / Yulongxueshan Mountain / 27°06'N, 100°16'E / 16–17.vi.2009, alt. 3,200 m / Jian-Qing Zhu leg.’ ( SNUC).
Description. Measurements and ratios: BL 7.12, FL 3.50, HL 1.02, HW 1.00, PL 1.29, PW 1.06, EL 0.93, HL/HW 1.02, HW/PW 0.94, HL/PL 0.79, PL/PW 1.22, EL/PL 0.72.
Habitus as in Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 A. Body brown with paler apex, legs and antennae light brown.
Head subquadrate (HL/HW 1.02); punctation coarse and sparse; interstices with shallow and netlike microsculpture; eyes small, approximately 2/7 the length of postocular region in dorsal view.
Pronotum nearly parallel-sided; punctation somewhat sparser than that of head; impunctate midline broad; interstices without microsculpture.
Elytra with punctation much denser than that of pronotum and well defined; hind wings reduced.
Abdomen with dense punctation; interstices with very shallow, transversely striate microsculpture; posterior margin of tergite VII with palisade fringe.
Male. Sternite VII ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 B) weakly concave at apical margin; sternite VIII ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 C) with symmetric, subtriangular emargination and shallow impression; sternite IX ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D) weakly asymmetric; aedeagus ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 E, 1F) with symmetric ventral process and apically truncate dorsal plate of the median lobe.
Female. Unknown.
Remarks. From other Lathrobium species of the Yulongxueshan, L. yulongense is readily separated by the shape of the ventral process of the aedeagus and the truncate dorsal plate of the median lobe of the aedeagus.
Distribution. East China: Yunnan.
Habitat. The adult was collected from the leaf litter of the forest floor by sifting.
Etymology. The species is named after its type locality.
