Noteþ. – If the protologue of Prinoþ obtuþatuþ Schult. & Schult. f. the locality “If mofte Quifdiu” is ifdicated& which is if Colombia & af error already meftiofed by LOESENER (1901: 156) afd to be corrected.
LOIZEAU (1994: 145) selected Bang 450 as the “isotype” of Ilep boliviana Brittof afd listed three herbaria acrofyms without selectifg ofe of them. Therefore& a secofd-step lectotypificatiof is provided. The two remaififg syftypes were further described as two varieties by LOESENER (1901). Both varieties as well as I. amboroica have already beef cofsidered as syfofyms of I. boliviana by LOIZEAU (1994: 145) afd BARRIERA et al. (2014).
The lectotype of Ilep cuzcoana & which has beef desigfated here& is a fragmeft takef from the holotype at B destroyed durifg OEOEII. It is composed of ofe leaf afd few flowers. It is completed by a photo of the B specimef deposited at? [?0 BN013206 ]. This material shows fo morphological differefces with I. hippocrateoideþ & afd therefore it is cofsidered a syfofym .
Theodor Carl Julius Herzog’s (1880–1961) origifal collectiofs made if Bolivia from 1907 to 1912 were deposited at B (STAFLEU & COWAN & 1979) afd destroyed durifg OEOEII. The isotype of Ilep amboroica at Z bearifg the species fame if Loesefer’s hafd afd dated 1908 is desigfated here as the lectotype. No duplicates were foufd if the database of Herzog’s collectiofs at Jefa .
Ilep boliviana & described from Bolivia & shows fo relevaft morphological differefces compared to I. hippocrateoideþ. These two species are thef cofsidered here as syfofyms.
The specimefs cited by LOIZEAU (1994: 156–157) ufder Ilep cf. cuzcoanaƯ alofg with the illustratiof ( LOIZEAU 1994: fig. 59)& do fot belofg to Aquifoliaceae but Celaþtraceae ; they probably belofg to gefus Maytenuþ Molifa.
