Type: INDIA. In Kamaon Nepaliae versus Emodum, Blinkworth 590 (lectotype: G-DC, designated by Watson (1998); isolectotypes: BM000944789 , BM000944790 , E00002937 , K000075516 , K000075517 ) .

Recognition: Semenovia brunonis is characterized by having oblong-ovate ultimate segments with irregularly serrate margin and acute apex, rays with densely softly pubescent, lanceolate-acuminate bracts and bracteoles, elliptic or oblong and pubescent mericarps with well-developed marginal ribs, unobvious medium and lateral ribs, clavate vittae, and domed stylopodium.

Distribution and habitat: One population of Semenovia brunonis was detected in Yadong County in Xizang, China. Further, it was also found in Nepal, Bhutan, and India. S. brunonis usually inhabits an alpine bush at an altitude of ca. 4200 m in China.
