( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 19. 1 )
Material examined. 11 specimens, 8 males, 3 females: Greece: “ GREECE, prov. Makedonia, distr. Florina, Mt. Vernon , 1.5 km SW Pisoderi ski center, 40°45'40.78" N; 21°15'54.04" E, 1740 m, singled & swept, 18.V.2013., leg. A. Kotán, P. Nemes, Gy. Németh, T. Németh & V. Szénási” (1 female, HNHM, 2 females CPG); “ GREECE, prov. Makedonia, distr. Péla, Mt. Kaimaktsalan, stream valley, 40°54'2.04" N; 21°49'31.55" E, 1825 m., singled & swept, 17.V.2013., leg. A. Kotán, P. Nemes, Gy. Németh, T. Németh & V. Szénási” (3 males, HNHM, 5 males, CPG); “ Greece, Kozani, Neapoli, m 650, 21.IV.1984, M. Bologna & G. Carpaneto” (1 male, 1 female, CPG).
This species was described on the basis of two males from Greece ( Cate & Platia 1989). Hungarian coleopterists collected several specimens in 2013 near the type locality (Kaimaktsalan Mountain). Some of the males copulated with females, providing reliable species level identification of females.
Decription of female ( Fig. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 19. 1 ). Body length 9.7–10 mm, width 2.5–2.8 mm. Body stouter than that of male, strongly convex. Colour black, with bronze lustre. Pubescence white, dense and long. Antennae shorter than in male, not reaching posterior angles of pronotum. Pronotum almost as wide as long, widest at middle. Sides not arcuated. Lateral margin invisible in dorsal view. Legs thinner and shorter than in male.
