Penthimia juno Distant, 1908: 245 View in CoL .
Black, faintly touched with yellowish brown on scutellum laterally and at apex, and on apical area of forewing, the latter brownish.
Female genitalia. Seventh sternite twice as wide as long medially with angular lateral angles and a median projection the latter narrowed to narrowly rounded apex.
Length. Female: 3.7mm.
Type material examined. SRI LANKA: Lectotype ♀ (here designated): ’ Type H.T’ ‘ Penthimia juno Dist. type’ ‘Kandy, Ceylon’ ( BMNH).
Remarks. This species was described from an unknown number of specimens (syntypic) with the following data: ‘ Ceylon; Kandy (Green).’
This small species, known only from the female type, resembles P. ereba externally but can be distinguished from the latter by its more uniformly dark colour, shorter vertex and more deeply concave posterior margin of the female pregenital sternite each side of the midline.
