Black with apex of scutellum and apical area of forewing light brown.
Male genitalia. Pygofer with caudal margin almost truncate, ventral margin straight with long stout setae on caudal one third. Subgenital plate with rounded caudal margin, with fine short hairlike setae. Style linear with well developed preapical lobe, apical apophysis fingerlike, slightly curved laterally, with corrugated surface. Connective with arms shorter than stem. Aedeagus with well developed dorsal apodeme, preatrium reduced; shaft directed caudodorsally, broad basally, gradually tapering towards apex, hooked with U-shaped notch; lateral margins near apical 0.33 serrated, one or two rows of spicules on apical 0.33 length; gonopore apical.
Length. Male: 4.0– 4.4 mm.
Type material examined. INDIA: Karnataka, Holotype ♂, Bandipur, 19.i.1985, S. Viraktamath ( UASB) ; Paratypes: 1♂, Thithimathi, 19.i.1978, C. A. Viraktamath; 1♂, Bandipur , 19.i.1985, S. Viraktamath ( UASB) .
Etymology. The species name alludes to the curved aedeagal shaft apex.
Remarks. P. curvata resembles P. distanti , P. meghalayensis , P. noctua , P. spiculata and P. tumida , all being predominantly black with the apical area of the forewing brownish hyaline and having a relatively slender body. In the male genitalia it is similar to P. distanti and P. meghalayensis but diifers in its narrower aedeagal shaft in lateral view, and from the former by its narrower style apophysis and from the latter by its narrower apical hook of the aedeagus in lateral view.
