Type-species: Pseudocriopsis modesta Melzer, 1931 View in CoL (original designation).
Body robust, rounded. Frons transverse. Antennae filiform, shorter than or equal in length to body. Prothorax with obtuse protuberance at beginning of basal third. Elytra coarsely and moderately abundantly punctate on anterior half, gradually becoming sparser on posterior half; with distinct, sparse, erect, long black setae; centrobasal crest slightly elevated, with somewhat sparse set of moderately long dark setae on top of tubercles; with one slightly marked carina on apical half of dorsum; apex obliquely truncate; with sparse, erect, stout, long dark setae throughout. Femora clavate. Tergite V with spiniform projection on each side.
