Gerris (Gerris) thoracicus Schummel, 1832

Material examined. Bassin Oujda, 26.0 2.16, 1 m.

Distribution. Palearctic species. This species is widely distributed in the northern part of Morocco (L’Mohdi 2016). In the Oriental Region, it was localized at Ain Benimathar spring ( Chavanon et al. 2004). We also found G. thoracicus in an artificial pond (for protection from floods) located in the campus of Mohamed Premier University in Oujda ( Fig. 3 ).
