Leg II 55 (53–58) long, femur 18 (16–19), basiventral femoral setae (bv) 22 (20–25) long; genu 6 (5–6) long, antaxial genual setae (l’’) 13 (12–15) long; tibia 19 (17–18) long; tarsus 8 (8–9) long; tarsal empodium simple, 7rayed, tarsal solenidion rodlike. Opisthosoma: dorsal opisthosoma with 33 (32–35) annuli, with filament microtubercles on rear annular margins, ventrally with 117 (111–120) microtuberculate annuli. Setae c2 45 (41–48) on ventral annulus 16 (16–17); setae d 60 (55–69) on ventral annulus 42 (40–43); setae e 45 (40–48) on ventral annulus 65 (62–65), setae f 40 (38–43) on 8th ventral annulus from rear. Types
Holotype, female, China: Shaanxi Province, Mei County, Taibai mountain, 34°01.51’N, 107°48.36’E. September 1, 2004, from Abies fargesii Frnach. (Pinaceae) , coll. Xue, XiaoFeng & Song, ZiWei. Paratypes, 9 females and 2 males, with the same data as the holotype.
Relation to host
Vagrant on leaf surfaces. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology
Derived from the specific epithet of the type host plant, fargesii .
Remarks
This species is similar to Rhyncaphytoptus amplus Keifer, 1961 , on Acer platanoides L. ( Aceraceae ), but can be differentiated by prodorsal shield with median and admedian lines separate (median and admedian lines connected in R. amplus ), coxal area with
