Distribution. Russia: Siberia (Kemerovskaya Oblast, between Mariinsk in Kemerovskaya Oblast and Achinsk in Krasnoyarsky Krai, Republic of Khakassia, Novosibirskaya and Tomskaya oblast, Republic of Altai, Altaisky Krai).

Remarks. This species, originally described as Craspedosoma deplanatum from between Achinsk, Krasnoyarsky Krai and Mariinsk, Kemerovskaya Oblast ( Stuxberg 1876a), has since been redescribed and transferred to Diplomaragna ( Shear 1990) . Then it was synonymized with the Altaic Altajosoma pinetorum Gulička, 1972 [= Diplomaragna pinetorum ( Gulička, 1972) after Shear (1990)] as its senior subjective synonym, and transferred to the revalidated genus Altajosoma (see Mikhaljova 2000).

As for the discovery of a small anterior angiocoxal process (ap) of the posterior gonopods by Nefediev (2019a) during his study of Altajosoma deplanatum males from the Altai State University collection, it should be noted in fairness that Shear, who redescribed this species, considered this process to be absent (see Shear 1990: page 9, Table 2: Data Matrix for Cladistic Analysis of species of Diplomaragna ). In addition, in the redescription of this species (see Shear 1990: pages 19–21) there is no mention of the presence of the anterior angiocoxal process. This is why Mikhaljova (2017) has treated the anterior angiocoxal process as missing.
