Range: — Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Rare (1 collection known), terrestrial in lowland forests; 400 m.
Notes: —A very distinctive species, possibly related to A. pectinatum . Rhizomes stout, long-creeping; rachises glabrous; blades with 4 or 5 pairs of lateral pinnae; pinnules imbricate, entire, 2–3 times longer than wide, ca. 30 pairs per pinna; pinnules glabrous on both surfaces, idioblasts lacking, margins of sterile pinnules serrate.
