Hemionitis rufa View in CoL (L.) Sw., J. Bot. (Schrader) 1800 [2]. 16. 1801.

Range: —Greater Antilles; disjunct from Mexico to Suriname and Bolivia (BE, CH, LP, SC, TA); northern Brazil.

Ecology: —Fairly common; terrestrial in deciduous and semihumid forests, often on open, steep slopes; 200–1400 m.

Notes: —Blades 1-pinnate, pinnae entire, rarely 1 lobe present; proximal pinnae broadly cuneate to truncate, short-stalked.
