Range: —Central Mexico to Bolivia (CO, PO), Chile.
Ecology: —Rare (known from two collections); open rocky places in arid regions; 2700 m.
Notes: —This is the only Andean species of Notholaena . It is unmistakeable by having yellow to whitish blades abaxially, sessile pinnae, and pentagonal blade outline.
