Range: — Bolivia (SC), southern Brazil (Mato Grosso do Sul), Paraguay, and northwestern Argentina.

Ecology: —Uncommon; terrestrial in dry forests, evergreen forests; 450–1050 m.

Notes: —Previously, collections of this species have been determined as D. pedata var. multipartita (= D. raddiana (C.Presl) Fée ) or D. pentagona Pic.Serm. , the latter a species largely confined to southern Brazil and northeastern Argentina, differing from D. adornata in the lack of tan scales on the blades abaxially, more dissected blades, and presence of dense short reddish hairs 0.1–0.2 mm long on the distal portion of the stipes. Kessler 12233 (LPB, UC) was cited by Sundue (2011) as D. adornata . Details of this species were discussed and illustrated by Yesilyurt (2008b).
