Range: — Colombia, Peru, Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC, TA), Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, and Uruguay.

Ecology: —Very common; in deciduous and evergreen wet forests; (700–) 1000–3500 m.

Notes: —Blades ternate, 2-pinnate-pinnatifid (3-pinnate-pinnatifid at base), proximal pinnae pedicellate, the pedicels (0.7–2.5 cm long), not winged; venation free; awns present on costae adaxially. Distinguished by the pedate blade architecture and flexuous veins at the tips of the pinnules.
