status

93. Hypsibius fuhrmanni ( Heinis, 1914) [T]

Macrobiotus Fuhrmanni nov. spec. ( Heinis 1914)

Terra typica: Colombia (South America)

Colombia:

• 06°16′N, 75°31′W; 2,550 m asl: Type Locality: Antioquia Department, laguna above Medellín, hepatic ( Plagiochila ovifolia Steph. ) on dry leaves. Heinis (1914)

Record numbers: Colombia: 1; total: 1.

Remarks: The original description ( Heinis, 1914) was not sufficient to enable Marcus (1936) to attribute the species positively to the genus Hypsibius and the correct taxonomic position of this species is unclear (potentially Isohypsibius or Macrobiotus - Ramazzotti & Maucci 1983). With the exception of the original report ( Heinis, 1914) this taxon has not been re-discovered and is currently endemic to Colombia.
