Terra typica: Uruguay (South America)

Uruguay:

• 34°25′S, 57°44′W; 50 m asl: Type Locality: Colonia Department, Riachuelo, 223 km W of Montevideo, lichens on tree on the banks of the Rio de la Plata. Claps & Rossi (1997)

Record numbers: Uruguay: 1; total: 1.

Remarks: Currently endemic to Colombia, this species belongs to the Paramacrobiotus areolatus group (see: P. areolatus and P. richtersi above).
