Figure 1 View FIGURE 1
Description. Male. Body slender. Fastigium verticis about 1.8 times as broad as scape, separated by an indistinct transverse suture from fastigium frontis. Face with impressed dots ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Ocelli indistinct.
Pronotum with anterior margin slightly projecting in middle, posterior margin almost truncate; lateral lobes longer than high, anterior angular of ventral margin rounded, posterior angular widely arched ( Fig. 1C View FIGURE 1 ).
Fore coxae with 1 spine. Fore and middle femora unarmed on ventral surfaces, hind femora with 2 internal and 9 external spines on ventral surface. Fore and middle tibiae ventrally with 4 pairs of spurs and 1 pair of apical ones; hind tibiae with 6 internal and 5–6 external spines on dorsal surface, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs.
Wings reduced to minute pads ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ), tegmina oval, hind wings lanceolate.Abdominal tergites two and three each with two rows of stridulatory pegs ( Fig. 1E View FIGURE 1 ). Eighth abdominal tergite prolonged ( Fig. 1J View FIGURE 1 ). Ninth abdominal tergite furrowed along midline; in apical area slightly swollen on both sides of midline, at ventro-internal angle prolonged into a longer spine, in apical area compressed and contorted, its apices acute and directing outside and forward ( Fig. 1G View FIGURE 1 ). Cerci slender. Subgenital plate ventral surface slightly convex, apical half of lateral margins converging, posterior margin widely rounded with slightly concave in middle ( Fig. 1K View FIGURE 1 ). Styli curved and conical, inserted in middle area of lateral margins.
Female. Unknown.
Coloration. Body yellow brown. Face, labrum and mandibles black ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Antennae with black rings. Dorsal surface of head and pronotum with black patterns as Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 . Posterior margins of mesonotum, metanotum and first abdominal tergite blackish ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ). Genicular areas of femora black, basal and apical areas of tibiae of all legs black, dorsal spines of hind tibiae black. Male ninth abdominal tergite with black brown apical area.
Measurements (mm). Male (holotype): BL 25.2, PL 4.9, TL 2.27, HFL 10.87.
Material examined. Holotype: male, Xima, Yingjiang , Yunnan, May 16, 2023, coll. by Weizong Yang.
Distribution. Yunnan (Yingjiang).
Discussion. The new species is similar to Larnaca (Larnaca) lincangensis (Yang, Jing & Bian, 2020) (Chinese name: NJṁDzDzdz) in: face black ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ), wings reduced to minute pads not overlapped ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ). It differs from the latter species by pronotum with black pattern ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ), male ninth abdominal tergite with long spines which apices contorted ( Fig. 1G View FIGURE 1 ), posterior margin of male subgenital plate widely rounded with shallow concavity in middle ( Fig. 1K View FIGURE 1 ).
Etymology. Name derived from Latin long and spin, referring to male ninth abdominal tergite with 1 pair of long spines.
