Phlebotomus permirus Fairchild and Hertig 1956   , 312 (female). Type-locality: Mexico, Chiapas, Palenque. Additional references: Lewis and Garnham 1959, 83 (male).

Phlebotomus tikalensis De León 1971   , 190 (male). Type- locality: Guatemala, Petén, Dos Lagunas. Additional references: Young and Duncan 1994, 252 (synonym with Lu. permira   ).

Lutzomyia (Dampfomyia) permira (Fairchild and Hertig)   : Young and Duncan 1994, 252 (references, taxonomy, distribution).

Dampfomyia (Dampfomyia) permira (Fairchild and Hertig)   : Galati 2003, 39, 102 (list, keys).

Dampfomyia permira   has been recorded from Mexico, Belize and Guatemala. In Mexico, this species was known only from the type locality in Chiapas, but we found some specimens in the state of Veracruz, as mentioned below.

Material examined. Mexico: Veracruz, Municipality of Paso de Ovejas (labeled as Tezonapa), El Palmar, 23- 24 -06 / 2009, dry tropical forest, huleras, UV-CDC trap, Brigada Entomológica VI, col. 9 females.
