Hosts: Acris crepitans , A. gryllus , Pseudacris crucifer ( Amphibia: Anura : Hylidae ); Lithobates catesbeianus , L. chiricahuensis , L. clamitans , L. palustris , L. pipiens , L. sylvaticus , L. yavapaiensis (Ranidae) .

Distribution: Nearctic.

Description (after Kuzmin et al. 2003, with some modifications). Medium-sized Rhabdias species. Body cuticle inflated mostly in posterior part of body. Lateral pseudolabia present in gravid specimens, less prominent in smaller specimens, absent in subadults. Body length 6.61 (4.99–8.24) mm, maximum width 299 (250–350), buccal capsule with narrow lumen, 9.7 (7–10) deep, 14 (12–15) wide, oesophagus length 571 (500–620) (8.7 [7.3–11.2] % of body length). Oesophagus width 32 (30–35) at anterior end, 44 (40–50) at middle of muscular region, 40 (35– 42) at middle of glandular region; posterior bulb 53 (45–62) wide. Anterior dilation of oesophagus present at middle of muscular part. Distance from anterior end of oesophagus to nerve ring 229 (180–250) (40.2 [32.7–48.0] % of oesophagus length). Oesophageal bulb wider than anterior part of intestine. Vulva lips small. Vulva postequatorial. Distance from anterior end to vulva 4.14 (3.19–5.08) mm, (62.7 [55.6–67.1] % of body length). Tail conical, elongated, lacking cuticular inflation on posterior part. Tail length 290 (250–330), (4.4 [3.7–5.4] % of body length). Egg size (n = 20) 97 (82–107) × 47 (37–55).

Material studied: over 50 specimens ( SIZK, USNPC) from L. pipiens (15 specimens measured) .
