Type locality. Peru, Cajamarca, Perulillos, entre Celendín y Cajamarca.
Examined material. HT ♂ (CMa at MRSN) and PT ♀ (CSt) (complete TS).
Note. Straneo (1951) described Pachyabaris laevis from Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta ( Colombia), later attributing this species to the genus Sierrobius ( Straneo 1985) . The same author successively described Ogmopleura laevis Straneo, 1993 from the Andes of Peru. Since the synonymy of these three genera with Blennidus was stated ( Moret 1995), Blennidus laevis ( Straneo 1993) became a secondary homonym of Blennidus laevis ( Straneo 1951) and the new name Blennidus pseudolaevis was proposed ( Allegro & Giachino 2011b). This species belongs to the ‘ B. orbicollis species group’ together with three other species easily distinguished by the habitus and the distinctive morphology of aedeagus ( B. crassus , B. orbicollis and B. pinguis ) ( Allegro & Giachino 2011b).
Distribution. Blennidus pseudolaevis is recorded from Dept. Cajamarca (Northern Peru) ( Allegro & Giachino 2011b).
